Renters Alliance of Montgomery County Celebration on December 3  (click for details and see

From Matt Losak, of the Montgomery County Renters Alliance:
Greetings, Friends and Allies at TENAC. The Renters Alliance cordially invites you all to our Thursday, December 3 "Building Community" celebration/benefit to be held at The Fillmore in downtown Silver Spring.

As the first and only nonprofit in Maryland dedicated exclusively to renter outreach, education and advocacy, we cannot emphasis enough the importance of strengthening an organized renter voice to protect all of us from excessive rent increases, neglectful and abusive property management, retaliation and to improve our government's responsiveness to renter needs.

As you all at TENAC (and all renters) know well, the renters rights movement is growing and so is our voice. But then, so is the voice of our well-financed and politically powerful opposition. Thus, at least for one night, we hope to combine an evening of music and merriment with a demonstration of regional support with strong attendance. Please come.

Our celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 3 and is fundraiser, but it's also a party featuring Grammy award nominated West African music and dance of Cheick Hamala Diabate. Please come out and support the cause.

General admission tickets range from $25 (affordable rate) to full price tickets at $125. We also have VIP tickets and sponsorships available, as well as FREE tickets for those in difficult financial circumstances. No one will be turned away (unless we run out of space, so please register!).

Come join us and support the cause. Share this information with you friends and neighbors. We look forward to seeing you all!
