FEDERAL SHUTDOWN CAUSES HARDSHIP TO THE NATION AND SPECIAL PROBLEMS LOCALLY FOR THE DISTRICT

The last federal shutdown (1995-96), in addition to losses in the hundreds of millions nationally, the District of Columbia's local economy lost almost sixty million dollars in uncollected revenue, tourism losses, cancellations and lost business -- and that's without inflation factored in.  Look forward to something similar this time unless Congress makes a quick resolution.  Click for details
